About Us
Our Mission
Vintage Voltage is a 70s Rock Experience & Tribute band based in Brighton (UK). We are here to prove that not only old men in wigs can play #dadrock! To be clear, we love our dads (and their wigs) and wouldn't be playing this music if it wasn't for them. However, unlike our dads we can still get away with unbuttoning our shirts on stage like Pagey and Planty used to ... at least ... without causing offence.
During our performances, we take the audience back in time to (re)experience the heyday of Rock together; when guitarists were gods and bands were religions. We play both 'classics' and 'deep cuts' from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Free, Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Queen and many more ...
The band was founded by our guitarist and bandleader Folly den Toom after he came back from Nashville:
''On the other side of the pond there are some amazing young bands playing real Classic Rock tunes. And the best part is; both young and old enjoy rocking out to that music together, whether it be in dive bars, honky tonks, or other clubs! When I go to see cover & tribute bands here in Europe, I tend to be the only person in attendance who didn't witness the first moon-landing ... And you know what, that's sad because irregardless of age there are some great bands playing amazing music out there.'With Vintage Voltage I want to appeal to both young and old audiences, and (re)introduce everyone to some of the best music that was ever put to tape.'
So, don't expect us to show up in suits ... But rather flared trousers, cowboy boots, and with enough long hair to make rapunzel jealous ...
